Liposuction or liposculpture is a surgical procedure that eliminates localized fat deposits in specific areas of the body (abdomen, thighs, hips, knees, arms) through suction, aiming to reshape and enhance the silhouette. It can be performed alone or in combination with other body contouring surgeries. This intervention brings great satisfaction to patients, as the results are permanent with a continued healthy diet and some exercise.

To eliminate localized fat deposits, special cannulas are used to mechanically separate adipocytes (fat cells) and then aspirate and remove them. There are no visible scars left after liposuction since the incisions made for the cannula approach are very small, around 3mm. It can be combined with another technique called lipofilling, where part of the extracted fat tissue is used to infiltrate areas where volume increase is desired (e.g., buttocks). By combining these techniques, we achieve body contour remodeling, obtaining a more harmonious silhouette.

The best results are achieved in individuals with localized fat deposits, typically resistant to diet and exercise, and with good or moderate skin quality. Striking the right balance between the extracted fat and the skin's ability to readapt to the resulting void is crucial to avoid areas with excess skin (sagging skin). When there is skin laxity and poor elasticity, readaptation is more challenging, and it may be necessary to combine liposuction with other surgical procedures. We will closely monitor your progress, providing you with treatment guidelines and taking care of your healing. You should take short walks to promote the absorption of edema (swelling) by stimulating lymphatic and venous circulation. You will wear a compression garment in the area where liposuction was performed. The goal is to control swelling and help the skin adapt to the new silhouette. You will need to wear it for approximately 1 month.

It is normal to feel uncomfortable in the first few days and have a sensation of "muscle soreness" in the treated area, but we will provide medication to manage any pain.

You'll be able to return to work in approximately 3-4 days, provided your job doesn't involve physical exertion. For sports activities, you'll need to wait for 3 weeks.
